My name is Ashley, and my husband and I are the owners of Iz and Liv Films. Location Ideas
Tampa, FL is such a cool place to live, vacation, and/or get married! The Tampa area is home to beautiful scenic locations, overall decent weather (especially in the late fall, winter and early spring, and cultural diversity. There’s a wide range of scenery, which means there’s something to enjoy for everyone, from luxurious hotels to rustic beachfront resorts, and beautiful historic wooded areas. The vibrant urban atmosphere offers tons of activities, and its rich dining scene provides a never-to-be-forgotten culinary experience.
Philippe Park, is located in Safety Harbor in Pinellas County; with intricate stone staircases, riverfront beach access, and large mossy oak trees, it’s the perfect whimsical outdoor location for engagement and wedding photos.
Armature Works is THE place to be for the couple who loves the Urban city life, while enjoying the outdoor scenery that Tampa has to offer. It is a historic structure that’s been given new life, and has an unobstructed view of the Hillsborough River, and offers a wide variety of unique experiences, innovative restaurants, and events ranging from live music to markets to car shows to festivals and more!
Ybor City is a National Historic Landmark District, and our Manny’s and I personal favorite mini vacation spot. The historic district offers a wide range of activities, food and drinks, and entertainment. The colorful streets, cool alleyways, and brick walls lend to a super cool and unique backdrop for photos and video. We also have to mention that there’s free roaming chickens and roosters that are direct descendants of the chickens that lived in the backyards of the neighborhoods earliest resident’s over a century ago (I think that’s pretty cool!).
Fort De Soto Park would be the perfect location for a beach backdrop for your wedding or engagement photos. The largest park located in Pinellas County, Fort De Soto Park is home to beach plants, mangroves, wetlands, palm hammocks, hardwoods and tons of native plants. This location offers of course the typical beach scenery, as well as big rocks and driftwood to add variety to any engagement session. Due to this parks popularity, the best time to visit would probably be weekdays, or early morning weekends as the sun is rising.
Coffee, Food, and Drinks Recommendations
Coffee, food and drinks all have something in common: they’re at the center of a good conversation and the creation of a new memory. We’ve been to a lot of these places, and still have to check out a few. If you visit any of these, we’d love to hear what you think!
We first visited Buddy Brew Coffee years back after seeing one of our favorite bands playing in the Tampa area, and we visit any time we get a chance to! The initial draw was the logo, being that we have a Lab as well! Then we walked in, and fell in love with the atmosphere, the quality of the coffee, and the mission of nourishing the global coffee ecosystem and local communities through coffee.
Looking for a Coffee Experience in a beautiful location? Look no further than The Coffee Bar at Oxford Exchange. They serve up hand-roasted coffee from none other than the aforementioned Buddy Brew Coffee, along with pastries, lite bites, beer, and wine in the bustling atrium.
We first visited the Blind Tiger Café at their location in Ybor City. Cleverly named after speakeasy’s, the owners wanted to sell quality, original roasts so great tasting, it would seem illegal. If you’re a coffee enthusiast looking for a unique experience with incredible coffee, you don’t need to look any further than Blind Tiger!
Lending to the diversity of food and experiences offered in Tampa, FL, Ulele is the place to eat if you’re interested in Native-inspired dishes and craft beer. Ulele offers intricately flavored, visually appealing dishes prepared on a huge 10' in diameter barbacoa grill featuring items indigenous to the Tampa area’s waters and farms.
Owner of The Revolution Ice Cream Co., Bill Workman was dubbed “the Willy Wonka of Ice Cream”. This is not your typical ice cream store, and is the place to be for incredibly unique and delicious ice cream flavors, such as Chocolate Habanero, Drunken Brownies, Caramel Vanilla Pralines, Vanilla Ice Cream loaded with Bacon and Bacon Brittle, and more!
